After a large-scale renovation, Virginia’s historic Willow Grove plantation (1770s) was reborn as the Inn at Willow Grove in 2010. David and Charlene Scibal’s pet project took two years—David writes on the official website, “we had always admired the historic building and saw this as an opportunity to bring an old beauty back, and the project was massive”—and the results didn’t go unnoticed. The Inn has been racking up the awards (and rave reviews on social media) for its beautiful gardens dotted with oversized fire pits, butler concierge services, the farm-to-table restaurant, and thoughtful amenities (like fresh beignets with locally-roasted French Press coffee delivered to your door in the morning).

The luxury hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, and has become a popular spot for destination weddings.

Now some exciting news from Virginia wine country: The Inn at Willow Grove will soon unveil a $2 million expansion. By the end of August, the Inn will show off a brand new destination spa encompassing 2,000 square feet and overlooking the property’s 40-acre grounds. Mill House Spa will include four treatment rooms, a gym, and a heated outdoor pool. Next to the historic main building, two new adjacent guest houses will each have five luxury rooms and suites, bringing the grand total to 24 guest accommodations. Charlene Scibal will oversee the decoration of the rooms with luxurious textiles and accent pieces.

Note: The Scibals have also recently opened (July 2017) a casual bistro in the village of Orange called Forked on Main.
